The name IL GALEONE is inspired from the Galleons. These majestic ships were first developed in England, where they were known as Kings or Queens ships, and they proved their worth in the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588. They were of a low-charged hull design and this made them faster and more manoeuvrable than any other existing vessels at the time.
